 Not quite going to plan....

I may have missed the carnival, but hey, there's still colour all around, a red door and some pretty daisies.

I'd been misinformed, told the carnival started at 2pm but it must have started way before then, because by the time I went out to see it, everyone was leaving! Oh well, it wasn't meant for me to see.

This little old fashioned vintage pram, used now as a plant pot, is often outside the vintage clothing shop, and I like it, its just got something cute and quaint about it.

I noticed that Bethesda Chapel was open. I hadn't been inside so now was my chance. There had been an exhibition of hand made quilts, but I missed that too! I was happy to catch the light through the windows.

And there it was, the afternoon light, green and healing, soft and calming

Oriel Q Gallery, Narberth, Summer Auction

Today was the annual Summer Auction at the Oriel Q Gallery. I have volunteered to help out when I can, though it hasn't been as often as I'd like. Work is incredibly busy at the moment due to the thousands of tourists in West Wales for the Summer Holidays. I'm not complaining! Its great for Toursim that so many people love to visit West Wales.

But today I went along to the gallery with my camera to take a few shots of the auction in action. There were some wonderful pieces of art for sale and most I think were bid for and sold. Its just a shame that there weren't many people in attendance. Next year, I must help to rally up the troops to get more people to come along.

The art pieces on offer came from many different sources, mostly local artists, some unknown and some well known. There were bargains to be had, that sadly didn't get the attention they deserved. But those who did buy, went away very happy indeed.

Here are some images of the event

An Old Market Town

I don't know why it begin with yellow flowers, it just does I guess. Its a classic... blue background, yellow foreground. A tried and tested combination.
The old Town Hall. Its been many things over the years. My sister told me in the 1970's this is where she signed on, the job centre of old.
Now it is a meeting place, a coffee shop, and a food bank. Sad times. Narberth is an expensive and vibrant town, it's surprising to me that even here, there is need of a food bank. Every Tuesday morning, people come here to find meals for their week ahead. Sad times indeed.

No reason for the white door and the green wall, except I like doors. They hold behind them a myriad of life. This particular building is being renovated, flat land.

1862. The significance of this particular year has no meaning for me. An industrial place, a place where goods were stored.

Next door to each other a  Music Shop and an Upholster.

Walking through the town one Sunday, I came across a lane that led to a children's playground and the site of the swimming pool and a few more shops,

The Derutzen Building, the site of a once thriving market place I understand, where local people were allowed to sell their wares but were charged highly for the privilege.

The Queen's Hall Gallery, a space where local artists exhibit and where there are often days of public interaction. This was a Pinar day, the public were invited to draw or paint a picture that to them depicted Narberth. A collaboration between artists and novices alike.

A different perspective. Standing at the site of the Castle,
