Busy

Life has been busy, and hot these past few weeks. I haven't been inclined to spend much time on-line except to search and apply for jobs. The summer arrived almost unexpectedly; I've been spending my time enjoying the sunshine, swimming in the sea, spending time with family and friends, using my creativity in new ways .... rekindling the joy of baking has been one, an activity that I really thought had been lost to me. I've re-discovered organic fruit and vegetables which have awakened my taste buds and resulted in my feeling more healthy. I do love the summer ... it always cheers me up, encourages me to do things, and living becomes more of a joy. Not that I'm unhappy in the winter, but the dark days and nights do have a detrimental effect on my mental well being.

However, this is meant to be a blog about village life (although I am thinking of changing my blog title; it will have to do for now, until I think of something else) and village life has been just grand! I'm in heaven here by the sea, surrounded by trees, green fields, all manner of plants and flowers, everything is blooming and beautiful. I would put a smiley face here, but it doesn't feel right!

I'm having trouble remembering what exactly I have been doing these past few weeks, in detail I mean. I've been singing with the group on a Tuesday evenings, enjoying a drink in the bar after our hour of singing, and being entertained by the jamming contributions of many a talented musician from this village and the surrounding villages.

Once a month on a Sunday afternoon the White Lion invites bands and singers into its hub. At the end of June it was the Two Fat Cyclists who took to the stage. It was a great afternoon, and I probably had a couple of drinks too many, but once in a blue moon wont hurt! I'm not a big alcohol drinker, but I like to join in the fun every once in a while!
