A Bridge, Not Far

By the time I was ready for my walk, the sun greeted me. It was a beautiful late afternoon surrounded by the lucsious green of nature. Amongst all these trees I find my spiritual home. Always a smile on my face, always thankful thoughts in my head and a light spring in my step.

I had driven this narrow road where plants grow in the middle of it, but never walked it. The little bridge is a delight, the only one I've found in West Wales though there may be others to discover.

Imagination goes into a flurry wondering how long it's been here and why.

So peaceful and so beautiful.

Canaston Woods

Sunday was a short walk at Canaston Woods. The rain was teeming down, I got soaked. The trees have not yet blossomed into splendour but Spring was in the air, there were primroses and small buds to be seen.

Come forward Spring. I'm waiting for you.

Spring

I always see Easter as a time for new beginnings. The winter months have been long and we are into April, although there are flood warnings today, I still feel Spring in the air. It brings with it a new beginning, a new lease of life. I am as predictable as the seasons.

When the hour moves forward, the days stretch out, I come alive.

The dark days and nights of the winter months are difficult for me. Motivation is practically zilch, the purpose of my life is nowhere to be seen. I mainly hibernate with the hedgehogs. Now wouldn't that be nice, to curl up with the hedgehogs, hide away from the dark winter and wake up when all of nature begins its new cycle.

The signs of spring are slow to appear this year. But I have seen it, and that encourages the smile within me.

My depression doesn't limit itself to winter but I have a good relationship with spring. It helps a lot.

These daffodils that my sister gave me are a reminder of the love I have for spring, the yellow of the petals are the sunshine that light my life.

Out and About

The Villages of Milton, Carew and Cosheston

Now that I've started photographing red post boxes and red phone boxes for record keeping peeps on twitter, I enjoy going out and about and finding them. What a geek!

Cenarth Falls, Ceredigion

A popular attraction for locals and toursits. A site of natural beauty and lots of small waterfalls. You can walk along the river, visit the mill, have a drink, a cake or a meal depending on what takes your fancy.

Tresaith

Tresaith, the tide was high during the hours I visited. I only really wanted to see the natural waterfall there, and so I stood on the rocks with a couple of other people and tried to get a picture of it. This was the best I could do at that time. I love this waterfall. A local man I spoke too, said its not much to look at. But I think it is a great wonder of nature and quite magnificent. Maybe his eyes have grown to accustomed to its beauty and he no longer notices how simply marvelous it is.

I've been photographing red post boxes and red phone boxes as a contributor to those who are making a record of them. I now get very excited when I find a Victorian Post Box, even though this one is no longer in use. Seeing the V R sign makes me smile. Its like finding a treasure!
